York College Progression Week

A very warm welcome to all of you coming in September to study on our Access to HE programmes. This website will give you information on your progression from our Access to HE course. You will find information and videos from Universities and Employers up and down the country. There is also information about starting your UCAS application and how your tutors will be able to help you.

This website should help:

  • To welcome and introduce you to college.
  • To prepare you to begin your studies with us in September.
  • Chance to find out more about the course before you start.
  • Practicalities, letting you know what to expect: on your first day and subsequent weeks and months.
  • Receiving this information in good time reduces the stress on you as we approach the start of term in September.


  • Will take place on Tuesday 31st August
  • You will be invited to enrol in the College
  • Funding must be in place for starting in September.
  • For some courses, you may need to obtain an Enhanced DBS report at £44.

For many of you this is a big change in your lives. If you need help and support that you have not already told us about please do so as soon as you can.

Term Begins :

Week commencing 20th September and runs until the 3rd week of June 2022.

Our priority remains settling you in to college life to prepare you for the challenge ahead, whatever that may look like.

An induction period at the beginning of term will help:

  • Getting to know each other.
  • Getting used to new routines at college and at home.
  • Becoming familiar with what is expected of you.
