HNC/D Multi-skill General Engineering
Lisa Wheeler, Head of Engineering
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Multi-skill Engineering has two available pathways:
- Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering - General Engineering
- Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering - Electrical and Electronic
With excellent facilities and industry experienced tutors, studying HNC/HND Engineering at York College will help you develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to meet the demands of employers in a rapidly evolving engineering sector; helping you adapt to a constantly changing world.
The mandatory elements of the course provide you with core engineering knowledge, skills and techniques which all engineers require, irrespective of current or future specialism; such as engineering maths and science and project design and management. Specialist units have been selected to reflect regional engineering and manufacturing employer skills requirements, whether following the ‘general multi-skill’ pathway or the ‘electrical and electronic’ pathway.
The Higher National Certificate (HND) in Multi-skill General Engineering feeds directly into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Multi-skill General Engineering, allowing you to study the subject at a greater depth.
This HNC/D has opened up opportunities for many students; it gives you a broad appreciation and understanding of a range of engineering disciplines and technologies, whilst developing your wider skills essential for the workplace.
